VMaxHTMLprotect Applet
Do you want to protect your HTML source code from curious people? I need
to disappoint you, there is no way
to do this, you only can make hacking more or less difficult. This applet
makes your HTML source just a little bit more protected than usual solutions
for this problem.
Note: this applet requires Netscape
3+ or IExplorer 4+ (sorry, MIE3 users, but you should upgrade your browsers).
Protected page is here!
and test this applet in action
What this applet does?
Applet opens specified page in new window without location bar and without menubar, so a curious
person can't see the location of the page and can't access the menu 'view source' item.
Applet adds some extra code inside your page to disable right mouse clicks, so one can't use pop-up
menu to view HTML source.
Applet uses encrypted URL, so one can't figure out your protected page location by looking into the
HTML source.
What this applet CAN'T do?
Once again, It can't protect your code from someone who is smart enough..
Applet CAN'T protect frameset.
Applet CAN'T protect pages which were loaded later in this window as a result of 'normal' user
clicking on link., Only the page loaded there by the applet will be protected. If you need to have more
than one page protected, open EACH page through the applet.
It can't do many other things (make money, cook , watch TV....) don't expect too much from it...
How to set it up?
First of all, go to the downloads page, and download the package. Then you will need to copy the
example tag inside
your HTML page, and customize applet's parameters. Here you will need to to ENCRYPT the URL
of the page you want
to protect, to put this encrypted string in URL parameter of the applet.
Last step, you will need to upload vmaxhtmlprotect.class and HTML files one with button and
protected one to your server.
How do I ENCRYPT my URL?
Encrypter
isn't included in the distribution, but it is always available on-line
at Virtual_Max's Cafe
To encrypt
your URL, follow this link,
please.
